Job Description

The Security Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall safety of employees, guests and property with a commitment to extraordinary service standards. A positive attitude and strong leadership abilities are paramount while providing guidance, support and oversight to officers, supervisors and specialty teams. The Assistant Manager is responsible for overall work performance of security staff, administrative duties and any additional duties as assigned by senior security management. The Assistant Manager will assume all responsibilities of the Shift Manager in their absence.

Essential Duties
• Ensure all patron and employee interactions are in accordance with Forbes 5-Star standards in order to maintain the integrity of the Wynn|Encore Las Vegas ambiance, while promoting hotel facilities and services.
• Instill teamwork, mentor others and encourage success at every opportunity.
• Responsible for effectively dealing with internal and external patrons, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to resolve challenges.
• Responsible for addressing patron issues or complaints in a timely manner and coordinating with Hotel Management as necessary.
• Maintain high standards of resort appearance by continuously walking the floors, inspecting public areas, as well as back of house areas. Identify and correct conditions which may impact patron or employee experience.
• Responsible for monitoring officers and ensuring they maintain Wynn and Forbes standards of service to patrons and coworkers at all times.
• Monitor and ensure officers are fulfilling their essential functions and post orders.
• Work closely with Hotel Management, Guest Claims, Crisis Management, Safety and Engineering to ensure the overall safety and security of our patrons and employees.
• Understands and is well-versed in the resort, hotel features and services.
• Performs administrative duties to include, but not limited to Kronos, Virtual Roster, shift count, chargeback, attendance, overtime justification, back of house report, steady extra report, pre-shift brief and other admin duties assigned by leadership.
• Responsible for payroll, compensation, vacation, and maintenance of applicable licenses and work cards.
• Understand and carry out progressive discipline in accordance with company policy as necessary.
• Sets outstanding example for all security officers by maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
• Responsible for the daily briefing of Security Officers and personnel assigned to their shift or special event.
• Follow department and company safety standards and promote these to the officers.
• Know, adhere to, and enforce the Wynn policies and procedures, applicable gaming violations and criminal codes.
• Patrol the property to observe persons and activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Wynn policies.
• Respond to Security related calls for service, evaluate and resolve the situation.
• Liaison and work in conjunction with local law enforcement to resolve issues of a criminal nature.
• Maintain command and control of all safety and security scenes.
• Ensure appropriate officer response for incident and scene management.
• Fill in and execute the essential functions of a Security Officer if necessary.
• Communicate company updates, policy changes, hotel occupancy, special events, and messages from senior management to all team members in the department in a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring all logs and reports are correct before the end of shift.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable gaming, city, state and federal laws.
• Responsible for thorough and timely completion of special projects/assignments.
• Solution oriented, avoids conflict and gossip, stays on task and promote teamwork.
• Responsible for providing support to Senior Security Management, as well as, Property Executives.
• Maintain an understanding of Security staffing and procedures for Special Events.
• Fill in for Security Special Events Manager as necessary.
• Report all disciplinary issues to Shift Manager.
• Attend required training classes, meetings and company functions.
• Create and maintain a positive work environment.
• May be assigned additional duties as necessary.


Job Requirements

Requirements : 

Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, College degree preferred
• Previous hospitality experience highly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required, 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred
• Be able to perform all security officer essential duties.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal & written. Must be able to communicate English with patrons, management, and other employees to their understanding. Second language preferred, but not required.
• Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to deal with problems involving patrons and operational issues, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
