Job Description


  • Effectively oversee the execution of assigned projects, including management of manufacturing, delivery, and installation of furnishings, finishes, fixtures, equipment, and services according to the standards and control procedures set forth by the WDD Vice President of Purchasing in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Wynn Resorts protocol.
  • Contribute to the revisions of written standards and control procedures for the WDD Purchasing Department that promote productive and effective performance of the functions expected of the Las Vegas and Macau offices.
  • Represent the Purchasing Department in project and management meetings, including effective, timely and precise communication with upper management of Wynn Resorts.
  • Identify issues with interdepartmental functionality and develop improvements with the Vice President of Purchasing.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to identify, resolve, and rectify issues unresolved by other project team members.


  • Identify, analyze, and implement project management strategies that maintain or reduce the total cost of specific items or commodity groups, while strictly adhering to project schedules and maintaining impeccable 5 star quality standards for Wynn Resorts properties.
  • Extract, analyze, prepare, and report job data between the project team and the Vice President of Purchasing related to job status, budget and expediting, and installation.
  • Supervise and coordinate project installations, inspections, and warehouse operation.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of the Wynn - buy purchasing system and understand its many functions including vendor modules, purchase orders, accounting, expediting, and reporting.
  • Research additional and alternative products, practices and vendors to provide goods and services.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to optimize contract negotiations with vendors.
  • Report project status to WDD Las Vegas team, WDD Macau team, and Operational Team.
  • Assess specifications to prepare and coordinate project and purchases as directed.
  • Detect and resolve potential specification shortfalls.
  • Review bid analyses and direct team members appropriately.
  • Inspect factories of new supplies, as well as existing suppliers during prototype review and manufacturing production checks and pre-shipment checks as required.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for quantity and quality of goods received.
  • Resolve problems and warranty claims.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, contracts, and payments alongside the Vice President of Purchasing.
  • Meet with vendors and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.


  • Participate in all interviews of potential new hires and work with the Vice President of Purchasing to make decisions most conducive to the department.
  • Participate in all employee reviews and implement disciplinary actions if necessary.
  • Contribute to activities to boost team morale and the positive work environment.
  • Apply strategic management skills to plan and organize workflow and to direct, coach, train and discipline employees as The director is ultimately responsible for the successes and failures of the entire team.


  • Leads, maintains and promotes exceptional integrity and reputation of the department.
  • Assists in training, welfare, health and supervision of the department.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality outside the company of all program design, sources and schedules.
  • Ability and positive willingness and duty to work the work varying schedules and hours required to meet the business needs of the project at hand, including travel when necessary.
  • Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and insure effective two way and multicultural communications among all WDD disciplines as well as the Operational team, vendor base, and service providers.
  • Accept any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Vice President of Purchasing as required to insure delivery and installation of all required FFE within project schedules and budgets.

Job Requirements

  • College degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of FF&E purchasing management experience in a large 5-star casino/resort is required.
  • Extensive knowledge in the manufacturing, purchasing and full supply chain management of hotel furniture, fixtures, finishes, equipment, and services is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft office programs.
  • Impeccable integrity and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Team player that thrives in a high-pressure work environment.
