Job Summary:
The Package & Freight Supervisor is responsible for providing assistance to the Sr. Assistant Manager with the day to day operations of the Package and Freight areas at Wynn and Encore. The Supervisor ensures the Wynn Las Vegas standards are maintained by the staff. This position is also responsible for providing leadership to enhance employee engagement and guest satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for providing support to the Assistant Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining the Wynn standards of service to guests and coworkers.
• Responsible for assisting with the department goals of maintaining schedules; staffing budgets; and supports management with necessary adjustments daily and during peak and slow business periods.
• Responsible for effectively supervising and understanding varied personalities and Implements a calm environment when under pressure.
• Responsible for training, conducting employee performance evaluations.
• Responsible for all inventories; equipment; supplies; any necessary items required within the package and freight areas.
• Responsible for reviewing daily X-ray logs; provides support to the Assistant Manager with training and certifying all Package and Freight representatives.
• Responsible for attending pre-convention meetings and communicates with Convention Service Managers and Meetings Concierge.
• Ensures the Wynn standards of cleanliness and appearance are met or exceeded.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external guests and employees; while maintaining tact, diplomacy and patience during each interaction and responsible for addressing guest complaints in a timely manner.
• Maintains a safe and pristine work environment at all times in all areas and communicates with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards.
• Knows and adheres to all company and department policies and procedures as well as embraces company culture.
• Understands and well versed in the resort, hotel features and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities and events available to guests.
• Attends Management training classes and incorporates new knowledge gained into daily work practices.
• Looks for all opportunities to assist peers, guests, other departments or leaders at all times.
• Solution oriented, avoiding conflict and gossip, stays on task and promotes teamwork.
• Awareness of guest experience at all times, smiles and makes eye contact and communicates professionally.
• Provides clear direction, establishes goals and appropriate time frames, Supervises overall guest satisfaction, and monitors progress to achieve desired results.
• Must focus on key drivers of employee engagement and guest satisfaction.
• Consults with all levels of management within the company to provide constructive feedback to other departments to help enhance and provide the highest level of guest service.
• Ensures staff is equipped with all tools to serve the guests’ needs.
• Performs all other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • 21 years of age and older 
  • Minimum of two (2) year’s experience in a large Resort/Convention hotel
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Knowledge of financial management, shipping and logistics, retail sales and equipment rentals.
  • Excellent leadership, training and scheduling skills
