Job Description

MANAGEMENT

  • Effectively oversee the initial bidding and buyout as well as the execution of projects in Las Vegas, including management of manufacturing, delivery, and installation of furnishings, finishes, fixtures, equipment and services according to the standards and control procedures set forth by the WDD Vice President of Purchasing and in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Wynn Resorts protocol.
  • Contributing to the establishment of written standards and control procedures for the WDD Purchasing team that promotes productive and effective performance of the functions expected of the team.
  • Manage and execute major purchasing initiatives for the growth of the purchasing team.
  • Represent the purchasing department in project and management meetings, including effective, timely and precise communication with upper management of Wynn Resorts.
  • Identify issues with inter-department functionality and execute resolution.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to identify, resolve, and rectify issues unresolved by junior team members.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Identifying, analyzing, and implementing project management strategies that maintain or reduce the total cost of specific items or commodity groups, while strictly adhering to project schedules and maintaining impeccable five star quality standards for Wynn Resorts properties.
  • Extracting, analyzing, preparing and reporting job data between each office in regards to job status, budget and expediting, and installation.
  • Supervise and coordinate project installations, inspections and warehouse operation.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Wynn - buy purchasing systems including vendor modules, purchase orders, accounting, expediting and reporting functions.
  • Research additional and alternative products, practices and vendors to provide goods and services and develop strategies and tactics to optimize contract negotiations with vendors.
  • Project labor hours and responsibility for purchasing labor budget for all projects, using historical data and considering current market conditions.
  • Continually report project status to WDD Las Vegas team, and Operational Team.
  • Assess specifications to prepare and coordinate product and purchases as
  • Knowledge to detect and resolve potential specification shortfalls.
  • Ability to perform and train purchasing duties of employees under supervision.
  • Extensive knowledge of local and corporate fire codes, local and corporate building codes and standards, hospitality standards and methods.
  • Coordinating any required repairs or adjustments to inventory as needed.
  • Project planning and initial budgeting.
  • Problem resolution and warranty claims.
  • Preparation of comparative bid analysis for Vice Presidential approval.
  • Logistics coordination for all incoming shipments including scheduling of incoming deliveries from multiple carriers to insure adequate manpower and warehouse space; consolidating smaller shipments with carriers to insure cost containment; reporting of incoming and outgoing shipments to management staff; advising management of any delivery discrepancies or issues; and documentation and filing of freight claims with carriers.
  • Factory inspections of new suppliers, as well as existing suppliers during prototype review and manufacturing production checks and pre-shipment checks as required.
  • Insuring attic stock par quantities are maintained for new projects; inspecting incoming shipments for quantity and quality of goods received.

STAFFING

  • Supervision of the WDD Las Vegas Purchasing staff including team planning, delegation of duties, staffing, interviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions as approved by the Vice President.
  • Ability to apply strategic management skills to plan and organize workflow and to direct, coach, train and discipline employees as necessary. The manager is ultimately responsible for the successes and failures of the entire team.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Leads, maintains and promotes exceptional integrity and reputation of the department.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality outside the company of all program design, sources and schedules.
  • Ability and positive willingness and duty to work the work varying schedules and hours required to meet the business needs of the project at hand, including travel when necessary. A 50-60 hour work week is typical.
  • Encourage good relationships, promote team spirit, and insure effective two way and multicultural communications among all WDD disciplines as well as the Operational team, vendor base, and service providers.
  • Accept any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Vice President of Purchasing as required to insure delivery and installation of all required FFE within project schedules and budgets.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years in hospitality or construction field required, or equivalent college degree.
  • FFE management experience in a large five-star casino resort is required.
  • Extensive knowledge in the manufacturing, purchasing and full supply chain management of hotel furniture, fixtures, finishes, equipment and services is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Basic Cantonese will be an advantage.
  • Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft office programs, database management is required.
  • Impeccable integrity and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
