Job Description

The Community Relations Specialist will be responsible for supporting the company’s efforts to engage and support the Southern Nevada community and other designated communities. This unique role requires a highly motivated self-starter, flexibility, a creative and critical thinker, and a passion for community and impacting the lives of others.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to executing plans that engage employees and harness the company’s resources to meet community needs, balancing current administrative duties with long-term development, demonstrates excellent communication skills and a track record of positive employee and external relationships and maximizing opportunities for departmental success.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Actively contributes to the departmental performance, and the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.
  • Balances multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high- pressure situations.
  • Provides support and assists in preparation for volunteer, community, and department events.
  • Assists in community events such as tabling, volunteer and special event preparations, etc.
  • Assists in recruiting volunteers.
  • Coordinates details and prepares materials for meetings and presentations.
  • Supports the Vice President of Community Relations and Department.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuous education and professional development.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
  • Utilizing manual or computerized office equipment.
  • Performs a full range of secretarial duties acting on own initiative.
  • Answers telephone calls and handles inquiries; decides how to respond to calls and which calls Executive could handle.
  • Drafts response to routine correspondence and composes communications for routine events.
  • Checks and processes expenses reports.
  • Makes travel arrangements for department team members.
  • Handles confidential files, materials, correspondence, etc.
  • Gathers information to prepare reports, manual, agendas etc.
  • Provides specialized administrative support of a non-routine, non-repetitive nature to relieve and assist Executive of complex details and administrative duties (i.e., coordinates and maintains effective office procedures and efficient work flow; establishes and maintains harmonious working relationships with superiors, co-workers, subordinates, clients and suppliers).
  • Interfaces with executive staff ensuring a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day to day activities of an Executive.
  • Performs a wide variety of miscellaneous duties as requested by Executive.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements :

  • A minimum of 3 years of community and/or administrative work experience.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate, read and write in English fluently and in a professional manner.
  • Candidate must exhibit strong motivational and developmental skills.
  • Requires the ability to work efficiently and within a team environment.
  • The ability to speak a 2nd language is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
