Job Description

The Fitness/Yoga Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the department to ensure Wynn Las Vegas standards are maintained by the staff.  This position is also responsible for providing leadership to enhance employee engagement and guest satisfaction and serves as a Spa Supervisor on duty during designated shifts. This Supervisor is also responsible for providing safe and professional yoga instruction to our hotel guests. The Fitness/Yoga Supervisor will provide yoga or other related class instruction in private, semi-private and group formats.

Fitness/Yoga Supervisor job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for leading, supervising and developing the fitness team and spa support staff.
  • Serves as a Spa Manager on duty and assists with all daily guest and employee requests/challenges while effectively communicating with the leadership team.
  • Must lead by example by demonstrating exceptional guest and employee interactions along with following all company and department guidelines.
  • Must be able to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Responsible for tracking and logging all guest challenges as outlined in company department policy.
  • Provides accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to guest requests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction while anticipating their needs.
  • Provides clear direction, establishes goals and appropriate time frames, manages overall guest satisfaction, and monitors progress to achieve desired results.
  • Responsible for providing support to the Spa management team.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Wynn & Forbes standards of service to guests and coworkers at all times.
  • Responsible for conducting trainings and meetings with the staff to ensure proper communication, engagement and overall development of the staff.
  • Assists with controlling labor, employee payroll, vacation and other benefits tracking, as well as maintenance of applicable licenses and work cards.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including but not limited to: scheduling staff, updating fitness class schedule, inputting & tracking of facility issues, and logging & tracking of equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for all inventory, equipment, administrative supplies and any necessary items within the Spa areas.
  • Responsible for actively educating, training and incentivizing the staff on fitness services offered and assist with department service revenue growth.
  • Ensures staff is equipped with all tools to serve the guests’ needs.
  • Knows and adheres to Wynn and department policies and procedures, embraces company and department culture and takes pride in the resort and amenities.
  • Ensures the Wynn standards of cleanliness and appearance for all areas.
  • Circulates the Fitness Center to ensure the presentation of the facility. Actively removes debris and replenishes and restocks amenities including but not limited to: reading materials, fruit, water, headsets, and clean towels along with collecting soiled linens promptly.
  • Ensure all maintenance and equipment challenges are reported in a timely manner.
  • The Yoga Instructor conducts training sessions in accordance with company policy.
  • Assists guests with fitness and individual and group class check-in and ensures proper facility orientation is communicated.
  • Helps ensure fitness facility is only accessed by resort or spa guests by verifying guest access.
  • Readily available to schedule and train private and group classes.
  • Is knowledgeable on industry trends, classes offered and can self-market classes to maintain sales while following Forbes standards.
  • General understanding of safe usage of all equipment and fitness area while assisting as needed.
  • Prepare fitness food and beverages in compliance with all SNHD guidelines.
  • Actively assists in class schedule development and participates in product demos.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

  • Yoga Certification required – must meet Yoga Alliance standards for certification with at least 500 of personal or group yoga instruction.
  • Pilates certification a plus, but not required.
  • A minimum of two years yoga instruction is required, and experience in a luxury resort is preferred.
  • Minimum one year leadership experience preferred.
  • Must possess an understanding of all exercise equipment and proper operations.
  • Knowledge of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Ability to instruct and teach individuals and/or group classes.
  • Must possess outstanding customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Candidate must be well groomed and professional.
  • Will be required to adjust schedule based on business demands.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically: Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Must possess a current Nevada Food Handler’s Card.
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
