Job Description

The Director of Purchasing will be responsible for handling strategic sourcing activities for end to end sourcing operations for the Wynn Las Vegas property operation. This individual uses thoughtful communication, significant   procurement experience and other interpersonal and technical skills to provide a level of leadership among the procurement team during daily project operations.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, ordinances and local gaming regulations, as well as department and Wynn Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.

This position will be responsible to ensure acquisition of goods and services at the best possible value with the highest quality deliverables. The Director of Purchasing will also be responsible for negotiating supplier contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and support program implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify market trends for opportunities to reduce cost.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to determine project requirements and expectations.
  • Interface between the various Wynn Resorts Procurement teams, the local community, property personnel, Design, Construction, Accounting, Risk Management and other departments.
  • Oversee inventory levels to ensure there are adequate resources to complete the project, requesting replenishment of damaged/missing items when required, and ensuring proper authorizations are in place.
  • Develop and execute installation strategy; actively manage the FF&E, OS&E and Gaming Equipment procurement and installation process in conjunction with Suppliers or other Owner’s Representatives in Project Management.
  • Recommend and participate in national RFPs.
  • Conduct RFP analysis to assist in determining award scenarios based on identifying the best supplier to provide the right product/services, quality, and price.
  • Actively manage the Warehousing, Receiving, Document Retention and Office Services functions of the property operation.
  • Assist in negotiating, writing and executing supplier contracts for assigned projects working directly with the supplier and applicable departments such as Corporate Legal and Risk.
  • Assist with the development of project implementation plans to assure a successful program roll-out and increased property compliance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of solutions to identified issues.
  • Assist in identifying and developing qualified diverse suppliers.
  • Draft comprehensive Statement of Works (working closely with suppliers and business owners).
  • Work on cross function projects with various Wynn Resorts and property departments.
  • Maintain internal filing system and ensure Legal and other applicable departments have a copy of each executed agreement.
  • Coordinate between the suppliers and Risk Management to ensure Suppliers have the appropriate amounts for Certificates of Insurance and COI’s are collected after award.
  • Perform other job related duties as requested.

Job Requirements


  • Birchstreet experience is required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • At least 7 years of increasing levels of procurement experience.
  • OS&E procurement and installation experience.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
  • Some travel may be required
