Job Description

The Wynn Las Vegas Sound & Video communications department oversees the in-house audio and video systems associated with Villa guest rooms, restaurants, public spaces, and back of house service areas. Maintenance and operations of these systems is a critical element for our overall guest experience.


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Sound & Video Communications, the Jr. Manager will be required to: 

  • Possess a broad scope of technical audio, video, control, networking, and fiber optic experience.
  • Assist in managing all S&VC operations including coordinating and scheduling of events with other departments.
  • Coordinate with S&VC projects division regarding all projects to properly meet the requests from our guests and external department requests.
  • Track, stock and order all A/V equipment and parts necessary for operations.
  • Schedule personnel to meet the demands of all operational requests along with predicting operational workload based on hotel occupancy.
  • Communicate effectively and work with a high degree of creativity and personal responsibility.
  • Provide positive feedback, coaching, and enforce progressive discipline in accordance with established policies and procedures for technical staff when necessary or warranted.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Contribute to the financial health of the department by controlling costs.
  • Effectively assist in managing internal (S&VC) and external departments and external vendor relations, some of which will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy. Responsible for addressing client and team member issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure the department delivers a maximum level of customer service, guest service, and production value.
  • Work with safety as a priority and follow department and company safety standards.
  • Ensure all Wynn Las Vegas core values, property and department standards are implemented and applied.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Job Experience / Education:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of seven plus (7+) years’ experience in a commercial, hospitality, and residential Audio & Visual design, engineering, and management role.
  • Experience working with and managing personnel.
  • Complete understanding of signal flow for sound, video, and Crestron control systems.
  • Ability to design, engineer, configure, and program large scale audio, video, and control systems in a fast paced environment with ever changing details.
  • Manages and assists with Crestron programming, and networked audio and video systems.
  • Knowledge of various data control protocols I.E. Crestron, RS232, TCPIP, and Bacnet.
  • Knowledge of networked video and audio transmission standards HDBaseT, streaming JPG, H.264, SVSI, Dante, AVB, Blu-Link, Audio Architect, and Q-SYS.
  • Experience with large satellite distribution and MATV feeds.
  • Knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber distribution and installation.

  • Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word, & Excel.
  • Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality / entertainment industry, team members must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and long hours.
  • Models a professional and polished appearance as required by company guidelines.
  • Must be able to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner.
  • Must maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least thirty (50) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.
  • The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. When on the property or during events and some back of house areas, the noise level increases to loud. Must be able to interact with others in a professional manner.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
