Wynn Resorts is the recipient of more Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005 and was once again named the best resort in Nevada on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” a title received for the tenth time. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 103,000 square feet of retail space as well as three nightclubs, a beach club and recreation and leisure facilities. In addition to two luxury retail esplanades, a Strip-front expansion, Wynn Plaza, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.

The Regional Director of Accounts is the eyes and ears in the Southeast region for the on-property sales team in Las Vegas (Wynn Las Vegas and Encore) and in Boston (Encore Boston Harbor).  The main role of the position is to find new and qualified groups for the on-property sales teams to book.  Time spent promoting the Las Vegas properties should be approximately 75% and the Boston property approximately 25%.

To achieve the maximum number of new leads/RFPs (request for proposal) possible, the Regional Director of Accounts should have an organized plan and approach to meet new customers and build strong relationships, which involves frequent communication via phone and email, in-office visits, entertainment, attending industry events, sales calls and presentations, participating in local and national industry associations (such as MPI, SITE, PCMA, etc.), and event planning.  The Regional Director of Accounts should be prepared to travel up to one week out of every month, and plan two to three days per in-office weeks visiting, entertaining, and presenting to clients in the area, with in-office days focusing on prospecting new and existing clients.  

This position should also take a team approach in working with the on-property sales teams, interchanging the roles of support and coaching as needed.  The Vice President of Sales may assign special projects to help drive business and revenue.  Participation and leadership in creating and executing team projects, such as the annual business plan is vital.

The Regional Director of Accounts must exemplify Wynn and Encore brand standards in appearance and demeanor at all times, always taking a “team-sell” approach.  Communication among clients and team members should be clear, concise, and effective, which includes impeccable follow-up and follow-through.

This position should also keep track of current events within the business markets in the region and relay that information to the on-property teams to help track industry trends so as to make better business decisions and capitalize on opportunities.

Job Requirements

The position requires in-depth knowledge of the properties’ facilities, ranging from meeting space capacities to restaurants and amenities, as well as an understanding of the employee culture and how the brand is different.  Knowledge of the competitive set in Las Vegas and Boston is important, in addition to other major destinations that we may compete with on larger programs. 

The position requires the ability to penetrate an account at all levels, constantly maintaining relevant contacts and tracking movement, and the ability to uncover all business opportunities that may exist in different subsidiaries and departments within the account.  An effective Regional Director of Accounts will leverage strong client and third-party relationships to earn referrals.  Consistent and detailed system notes are key.

  • Good social skills; active in industry events and professional organizations.
  • Degree in Hotel Management, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years in hotel sales; proficient in Delphi software, Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
