ABOUT ENCORE BOSTON HARBOR Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury global destination gaming resort that will feature 671 hotel rooms with sweeping views of the Boston skyline and Boston Harbor, ultra-premium spa, luxury retail, high-end dining, and state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting spaces. At a total cost of $2.5 billion, it is the largest private single-phase development in the history of the Commonwealth.  Situated on the waterfront along the Mystic River and connected to Boston Harbor, Encore Boston Harbor will include a six-acre park along the water that will feature a harborwalk, an events lawn, public viewing areas, ornate floral displays and retail and dining experiences that overlook the Encore Harbor Walk.

The Encore Boston Harbor Security Control Center Manager (SCC) will be responsible for managing SCC Operator activity in a 24/7 operations center. This includes the monitoring of all non-gaming cameras and alarms as well managing all emergency and non-emergency requests and dispatches as appropriate. Acts as a clearinghouse for all non-gaming security issues. This position will be accountable for the financial performance and daily operation of the Security Control Center.  


Job Responsibilities:  


  • Ensures all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
  • Manage the daily operation of a 24 hour Command Center, responsible for monitoring thousands of cameras and alarms and dispatching security officers throughout the property as needed.
  • Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, this position may require working varying schedules to reflect the needs of the company.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, analyze and comprehend documents such as training manuals, maintenance instructions, policy and procedure manuals and other security related documents.
  • Assists Security personnel with any and all security violations and/or thefts of property and ensures these are documented.
  • Provides training opportunities to SCC staff and creates a motivating environment.
  • Keeps informed of all new developments relative to available resources for SCC; makes recommendations designed to maximize department and company success.
  • Maintains short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
  • Must possess outstanding organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills as well as superior attention to detail.
  • Facilitates communication throughout the property by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all team members under his/her area of responsibility and with other departments as appropriate to ensure property wide communication.
  • Oversees the performance management and team member engagement within the SCC. Provides training opportunities for team members under his/her area of responsibility. Creates a motivating environment.
  • Keeps informed of all new developments relative to available resources for SCC; makes recommendations designed to maximize department and company success.
  • Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Works with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards.
  • Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
  • Evaluates the working systems within the Control Center and ensures these systems are up to date and working properly.
  • Must perform inspections of daily logs, reports and video coverage.
  • Must be willing to perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

21 years of age or above

Will be required to obtain and maintain a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission

Must be able to acquire and maintain any licensing or active work cards required for this position.


High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, computer science, communications or a closely related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospitality, special event, gaming or physical site security with 3 years in a supervisory capacity preferred.

Experience working in a supervisory role in the Surveillance/Security Command Center of a casino is strongly preferred.

Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Experience with surveillance systems and technologies required.



Ability to respond to inquiries from other team members or guests. Fluency in English is required, secondary language is a plus. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
