Candidate Profile:

The WSI Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily online gaming and sports betting audits and performing advanced clerical accounting. Reports to the Assistant Controller, Online Gaming and Sports Betting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Verifies and audits the daily revenue reports for online gaming and sports betting. 
  • Reconciles revenue and expense reports to source documents; distributes and files financial documents and reports.
  • Monitor and review daily, weekly, monthly and annual reporting requirements for all regulatory bodies and state and federal taxing authorities as required.
  • Answers telephones, opens and logs mail, and assists in other clerical functions.
  • Sorts documents; codes, logs, and reviews for accuracy; verifies invoices for payment.
  • Prepares routine journal entries and posts financial transactions; reconciles entries and internal ledgers to financial reporting system reports.
  • Document procedures performed as part of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Maintains working knowledge of iGaming sports betting regulation and technology, as it relates to required revenue reporting. Ability to travel to gaming regulatory authorities, as may be required.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to two years casino accounting experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior experience within similar accounting office environment or associate or bachelor degree in business or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and word processors required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to get and maintain a NJ gaming License
  • Relevant sports betting, iGaming and/or online poker experience along with gaming industry experience in internal control development, financial statement reporting and related compliance preferred
